The mission of The Ebell is to improve the lives of women through education and philanthropy. To this goal, the Social Services Committee and their Ambassadors, actively engage with the Rest Cottage Association grant recipients. These 15 non-profits work tirelessly to support vulnerable women and their children throughout Los Angeles County.
During these difficult times, The Ebell would like to make the holidays a little more joyful for these deserving organizations. We are asking Ebell members to donate basic items, vital to the lives of these women and children. Each organization has listed its items, website, and contact details. ALEXANDRIA HOUSE
They are a transitional residence for women and their children to achieve economic stability and permanent housing, with a success rate of more than 92%. They also serve the broader community by providing supportive services.

CRITICAL MASS DANCE COMPANY
They have heart-centered movement practice, which supports the health, healing and transformation of women who have experienced trauma. They have teen and women empowerment programs to build self-confidence, reduce stress and anxiety, and make healthy connections with others. Programs are offered in English and Spanish.

FAMILIES AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Support services for women and their children who have been involved in the criminal justice system. The Miracle Project supports healthy parenting, healthy infant/toddler development, prenatal education, home, and community services.

JENESSE CENTER, INC.
They restore families impacted by domestic and sexual violence. They have a 24-hour hotline, 45-day shelter, 24-month transitional housing, legal services, mental health counseling, children and youth programs, public benefits advocacy, and job training.

JEWISH FAMILY SERVICES/HOPE TRANSITIONAL

To help victims of commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking, leave a life of abuse and violence, overcome their fears, and empower them to reach their full potential and achieve their goals. They have a drop-in center and Victim Empowerment Program.

NEW DIRECTIONS FOR VETERANS/OASIS PROGRAM
The Oasis Program helps women vets recover from trauma, prevent homelessness, suicide prevention and access to resources and employment.

ST. BARNABAS SENIOR SERVICES/WOMEN’S EMERGENCY FUND
The Women’s Emergency Fund pays for basic needs such as food, medical, housing, etc. They serve economically vulnerable seniors to maintain their independence, reduce isolation and improve their health.

THE TEEN PROJECT
Provides residential drug treatment, job training, life skills, mentoring and aftercare support at Freehab, for homeless women 18-25, exiting foster care, correctional facilities, and human trafficking.

TREASURES MINISTRIES
Emergency Care Program that gives support to sex trafficking victims and women in the sex industry – part-time on-call caseworkers, care packages and food vouchers. Their goal is to help these women live healthy, flourishing lives.

UNION RESCUE MISSION/HOPE GARDENS FAMILY CENTER
For homeless women to transition to financial stability and permanent housing, within 12-30 months by offering long-term rehabilitation programs, case management, jobs, life skills, childcare, and help to recover from past trauma.
