Monday Luncheon: Award-Winning Authors and Journalists James and Deborah Fallows
We are excited to welcome Deborah and James Fallows for a fascinating discussion of their new book, Our Towns. For five years they crisscrossed America in a single-engine plane, visiting dozens of communities. The America they saw is acutely conscious of its problems—from economic dislocation to the opioid scourge—but it is also crafting practical and compassionate solutions. Our Towns is the story of their journey—and an account of a country busy remaking itself.
Winner of both a National Book and National Magazine Award, James Fallows has authored twelve books, has been a national correspondent for The Atlantic for thirty-five years, and spent two years as President Jimmy Carter’s chief speechwriter. Deborah Fallows authored two previous books and has worked at the Pew Research Center, Oxygen Media, and Georgetown University.
