Member Spotlight: Madelyn Murray | January 27
Wednesday, January 27, 2021 — 3:00 pm
We’ll have a fun afternoon as Madelyn shares her genealogy story:
“Finding My Roots: 23 and Who?”
Madelyn, our longtime member who has been our hero spearheading our financial situation during our shutdown, takes some time to share another of her passions: ancestry. She and her cousin, family historian and genealogist Lisa Spelker, will take us through their own family roots journey and how they came to view genealogy as a tool for personal discovery. They’ll give the rest of us some how-tos for searching for our own relatives and family history using online records, internet databases and other tools such as DNA kits—maybe even revealing some long-hidden family secrets. While on this path, she says, we are likely to learn about our culture, geography, population migration, society and the results might even reveal some possible genetic health risks. Come enjoy the intrigue!
Our virtual Ebell programs are free, but donations are greatly appreciated and help the organization during these unprecedented times.
