Member Spotlight: Cecilie Korst on Cyber Security | June 16

  • This event has passed.

Wednesday, June 16, 2021 — 3:00 pm

Scammers beware. Cecilie, our own 22-year Air Force veteran in Cyber Operations, will teach us how to protect ourselves. No kidding!

Scammers use email or text messages to trick you into giving them your personal information. They may try to steal your passwords, account numbers, or Social Security numbers to gain access to your email, bank, or other accounts.

Cecilie, who has worked at the Pentagon, two acquisition centers, and numerous Air Force bases regarding command, control, communications and intelligence operations, says scammers launch thousands of phishing attacks every day — and they’re often successful. The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center reported that people lost $57 million to phishing schemes in one year. The “Nigerian Prince” email scams still rake in over $700,000 per year. Let’s talk about how to not get scammed.

Cecilie currently runs her own small company that performs website development, on and off-site SEO, social media and digital marketing.
