Lame Joke: What’s going to happen when the next Big One (earthquake) hits? Answer: CA will crack down the eastern Sierras and the rest of the continent will sink into the sea.
Ladies of the Ebell: we pride ourselves in diverse membership, but we have at least one thing in common: we all are Californians. John McPhee won the Pulitzer Prize for his compilation of geology tales in Annals of The Former World. Join us August 17 (the 3rd Tuesday) at 6.30 p.m.to consider our quake-prone state of mountains and valleys, deserts and farmlands, forests and marshes, ski slopes and beaches after reading the excerpt from the Annals: Assembling California.
Our virtual Ebell programs are free, but donations are greatly appreciated and help the organization during these unprecedented times.
