On Sunday, March 6 at 11.00 a.m. The Ebell of Los Angeles and the nonprofit organization, Look What SHE Did! will partner to celebrate Women’s History Month when Look What SHE Did! live streams a one-hour virtual benefit program from the Ebell. The event will be hosted by Ebell club member, acclaimed actress Sharon Lawrence.

The virtual event, which also kicks off Look What SHE Did’s month-long annual fundraising drive, will honor and feature lifelong defender of women’s rights and former President of Planned Parenthood, Faye Wattleton. She will be introduced by trailblazing studio executive Sherry Lansing. The event will also feature short films and live stories of several remarkable women. Ebell members are invited to support the vital mission of Look What SHE Did! by attending this inspiring event virtually.
Like the Ebell Club, Look What SHE Did! supports and celebrates women. Its mission is to inspire women and girls to greatness by bringing to light stories of remarkable women who changed the world. The organization, run by veteran female film and television professionals, creates short films featuring female storytellers celebrating the women who inspire them. In telling these important stories of trailblazing women, many of whom have been left out of history, the organization is creating a lasting testament to women’s achievement. Started in 2016, by Ebell member Julie Hébert, the organization has now created a collection of over 120 films featuring the stories of women from many different backgrounds who have done amazing things throughout history. It also recently entered into a licensing alliance with the National Women’s History Museum in Washington, D.C. in order to bring these vital stories to a broader national audience.

The 2022 Look What SHE Did! honoree Faye Wattleton served as co-founder of the Center for the Advancement of Women, an independent nonpartisan think tank. For fourteen years she was President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and was the youngest woman and first African-American to serve in that position, leading the international organization to become the seventh-largest nonprofit institution. She developed the organization’s extensive national grassroots advocacy network and exponentially expanded their reproductive health care services. Faye Wattleton is an inductee of the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
Sherry Lansing
Event speaker Sherry Lansing is the first woman to have headed a major film studio (20th Century Fox) and later served as Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures.She was involved in the production, marketing and distribution of more than 200 films, including Academy Award winners Forrest Gump, Braveheart and Titanic. In 2005 she founded The Sherry Lansing Foundation which is dedicated to raising funds for cancer research.
Look What SHE Did! will close out Women’s History Month with a virtual salon on Sunday, March 27, focusing on Olympian and Paralympian female athletes. This exciting event will feature live screenings of two short films followed by conversations with panelists including Olympic athlete, Barbra Higgins, and Paralympic athletes, Katy Sullivan and Anjali Forber-Pratt.
