Join Us for a Live Theatre Performance This Saturday,
Starring Sheryl Lee Ralph
Life is a little different for all of us this year, so our annual Opening Day event, long a tradition each fall, offers some exciting surprises beyond the norm. In keeping with our history, though, we will be treated to a personal appearance by an influential woman. Like her recent predecessors, athlete Diana Nyad of two years ago, and last year’s headliner actor Debbie Allen, Sheryl Lee Ralph will be in the spotlight.
What’s new is that Sheryl Lee will do a live performance, staged in the historic Ebell Theatre attached to our campus. We will view an exclusive preview performance of her brand new one-woman show: Journey to Center Stage.
Sheryl Lee, who won a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical for the Broadway musical Dream Girls, is an accomplished actor, singer and AIDS activist. She has appeared on our Theatre stage in the past for her Divas Simply Singing philanthropic performances, prompting her to become an Ebell Club member herself.
We invite you to come applaud one of our own, enjoy refreshments during a preview reception starting at 11 a.m. at the Theatre entrance, and revel in the company of fellow members you have been missing.
The performance, beginning 12.00 noon, will last one hour, with an additional half hour Q&A. We welcome all vaccinated guests who have submitted proof of vaccination with ticket purchase. A free Zoom link is also available for those unable to attend in person.
