Agatha Christie autobiographyAre you a diehard fan of Agatha Christie?  Do you prefer Poirot or Miss Marple?  Or detectives Tommy and Tuppence? What, you never heard of Tommy and Tuppence? No?  Then read The Autobiography of Agatha Christie

DID YOU KNOW?

*Agatha Christie liked arithmetic and embroidery.

*She played the mandolin but disliked gramophones.

*In Waikiki she learned to surf (standing up!) and enjoyed watching polo matches (standing or sitting).

*She qualified as an apothecary’s assistant in WWI (poisons, anyone?).

*Possibly in a “fugue” state (I had to look that up) she fled her adulterous husband; her abandoned car with an expired driver’s license and clothes were found at the edge of a chalk quarry.

*MI5 investigated her as a spy.

*She used the pen name Monosyllaba (HA, HA) although was titled Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
